The Open Research Funders Group (ORFG) is a collaboration of private funding and philanthropic organizations committed to the open sharing of research outputs and other forms of scholarship. Collectively, the ORFG members hold combined assets in excess of $152 billion, with total annual grantmaking approximately $11 billion annually.

The ORFG has built a coalition of interested organizations to develop actionable principles and policies that promote greater dissemination, transparency, replicability, and reuse of papers, data, and other research outputs.

We believe openness amplifies impact for philanthropy, research, and society. Open research accelerates the pace of discovery, reduces information-sharing gaps, encourages innovation, and promotes reproducibility.
