ORFG 2026 Annual Meeting Recap
Hosted at the Gates Foundation Headquarters and Conference Center (and online), 26 ORFG members and guests from 18 organizations gathered for their annual membership meeting. Despite the unusual Seattle snow and the ominous meeting date of Friday, March 13th, members immersed in a fun and engaging day of ideas.
In addition to members sharing updates from their organizations on open science policy, initiatives, workflows, and new projects, members participated in discussion with a guest panel of experts to consider the question: How will generative AI change open science and open outputs?
Finally, members collaboratively brainstormed directions for future strategic alignment, coordination, and collaboration that will enable their organizations to have the most impact in the open ecosystem, and discussed projects currently housed at ORFG, namely the forthcoming Funder Policy Landscape Analysis Report and future funders’ playbooks for open action.
